Having long wavy hair my entire life has taken a lot of fine tuning when it comes to choices of shampoos and conditioners. I have to admit, I have to do very little to my hair to style it but when it comes to washing and conditioning, I am a pretty tough customer.

The Maui moisture shampoo and conditioner certainly come in interesting bottles. As a big observer and commenter on packaging,  the Maui packaging felt like a cross between a hot sauce bottle and tanning accelerant. I had the choice of two to use today and I chose the Shea butter opposed to their coconut (which I will still try even though coconut is my least liked scent on the planet.)

I will be honest, after using hairdressers expensive brands forever and a day. I was sceptical of something a hairdresser didn’t hand to me.

The shampoo itself was thick and smelt pleasant and I could tell it did its job. Then came the most important product to me… The conditioner! I knew instantly it was great. Now I should point out that this conditioner is silicone free so when I used this conditioner and my hair was immediately soft and smooth, I was genuinely shocked.

I did not realise the extent of its awesomeness when it came to wetbrushing my hair. This conditioner made this effortless. Once done I let it air dry and was left with soft, shiny hair. Utterly enthralled!

I went on to simply straighten my hair once dry, I used no other products whatsoever. The shine is thanks to Maui Moisture! A job well done!

I have to say when I first viewed the packaging, I was impressed. White and gold? yes please. Popping open the beautifully designed oragami like lid to reveal a glorious mirror finish gold lid. I decided to put this glorious looking piece in the bathroom, ready for my evening routine but swapping out my moisturiser with this… and boy, what a treat it was.

Let’s start with the scent. Oh my god, take me to sweet heaven. You know, even if this didn’t work, I would still actually use it, purely for the fragrance it has!

The texture is so amazing, a solid balm indeed that melts into your skin. I have now been using this product for 3 weeks and have seen a wonderful improvement in the moisture of my skin. I have not experienced the dryness around my chin as I have previously suffered. I am utterly a massive fan of this product. Will absolutely keep it tied in with my nightly (and morning.. and whenever I feel like I want a bit of bliss) routine!

“Baby Foot” a Product that many have been raving about for some time and of course it is right up there for a product that people have been asking me to review.

I ordered Baby Foot directly online and I was very excited to try this product. You basically apply the plastic footsies on with some magical cooling concoction inside it which I personally disliked the feeling of but I persisted!

As a person who does experience rough heels I thought this would be a godsend… after all the raving I have read about it! “It will peel your feet” they say. “You can see your feet peeling after using it!” and you know what… indeed it did peel!

It peeled every piece of perfect skin beside my rough heels. I have no idea what good this could have done my feet beside giving me a feeling that I probably should not have immersed my foot in this product.

My Implanon was inserted September 2017 by late November 2017 I had it removed and have only now, come February 2018 have begun overcoming the side effects of it.

Firstly, to have it inserted HURTS. Obviously. I received incredible bruising which took two weeks to actually go away. The rod itself is 4cms long and as wide as a matchstick. So quite a bit of general needs to be placed around to get it in without you writhing in pain.

Many women are lucky to experience no periods whatsoever. For me, the side effects were felt within 24 hours, I was emotionally overwhelmed. Even the sight of emotionally charged ads on tv would make me cry. My first cycle was light and great. The second cycle was 14 days of non-stop bleeding. While it is recommended to “get used” to implanon. My short time on implanon, was horrific for me and it was something I was not going to endure considering the information about the rare side effects which had been seen in studies.  My time on Implanon made me feel emotionally detached, I suffered headaches, angered easily and my sex drive was below freezing the moment it was inserted and there was nothing I could do to stop it. I was conscious of these things but hoped the symptoms would subside… however the symptopms actually got worse so I was not having a bar of that.

I had the Implanon removed which was not too bad of an ordeal besides they fact it was so embedded in there, that my doctor had a very hard time removing it. To this day I still have a scar on my arm to the degree of thinking it was still in there. The insertion site still hurts and it has now been 3 months and finally, regularity seems to be coming back.

I do know some people love it, however, for me it was a very unfortunate experience I wouldn’t wish upon anyone. The studies of the side effects are incredibly scary and it is something you just don’t read until you open the massive multi-folded pamphlet.

I have been using it for a few weeks now and though it feels nice to put on,  I can honestly say it has done little for my skin. I don’t feel my skin has improved or become worse.
